This is your opportunity to nominate and empower eligible sisters from your congregation for the Social Entrepreneurship Development Programme – Advance.
This programme provides advanced training, mentorship, and resources to enhance impact and sustainability for social ministries/apostolate operating for over 3 years.
Eligibility Requirement: Sisters selected for this programme must NOT have participated in any of the Social Entrepreneurship Programmes at Strathmore University Business School.
The congregation must be registered members of the Associations (TCAS, ZAS, AOSK, ARU, AWRIM)

SBVP is implemented by Strathmore University Business School in partnership with ACWECA and supported by the Hilton Foundation. The project aims to transform Catholic sisters’ social ministries to sustainable social enterprises.
Programme Objective
This programme provides advanced training, mentorship, and resources to enhance impact and sustainability for social ministries/apostolate operating for over 3 years.
Target Participants
The programme is ideal for Catholic sisters in senior leadership roles within their social ministries/apostolates, including:
- Major Superiors: Leading the strategic direction of the congregation/ enterprises.
- Trustees: Sisters in charge of the assets of the congregations.
- General counsel: Sisters in charge of different sectors of operation within the congregation.
- School Principals: Sisters running educational institutions with social ministries/apostolates components.
- Project Coordinators: Sisters leading impactful projects and initiatives.
- General /Senior Bursars: Sisters managing financial sustainability and planning.
Admission Criteria
- Participants must meet the following criteria:
- The sisters should have a social ministry/apostolate that has been in operation for more than 3 years. The social ministry/apostolate must have at least 5 employees or more actively engaged in the enterprise.
- The enterprise should generate annual revenue of USD 10,000 or more.
- The social ministry/apostolate must be a registered entity with approved audited financial documents for transparency and accountability.
- The sisters should demonstrate a strong desire to manage their social ministry/apostolate successfully and sustainably, with a clear growth strategy.
- Must be proficient in English, both spoken and written.
- Should have basic IT skills and the ability to work online, including attending virtual sessions and completing assignments.
- Must have access to a laptop or smartphone to facilitate online learning.
- Applicants must be registered members of the Associations (TCAS, ZAS, AOSK, ARU, AWRM)
