Agnes Ruoro
Executive Education at Strathmore University Business School

Agnes Ruoro is a leadership & strategy faculty, Regional academic director of New Managers Leadership Program & ICF Certified Coach at Strathmore University Business School (SBS).

She is a leadership catalyst, strategy execution consultant, certified productivity coach, leadership curriculum design expert and lecturer with diverse experience in executive talent development.

Her career spans 10 years of executive leadership and organizational development across Africa; 5 years in financial services, oil, and gas.

Agnes has facilitated leadership and organizational development training in East Africa in areas of general leadership, strategy and execution, building high performing teams, helping executives identify challenges and find solutions in their leadership and managerial roles, personal leadership development and self-care through self-awareness, well-being and work-life integration.

She has moderated panel sessions in conferences, HR Roundtables and executive programs in leadership and business. In her role as Director of Executive Education at SBS, she designed and rolled out leadership development programs for high-level senior executives to meet the growing demand for organizational leadership skills for solving complex business challenges within the dynamic African context.

She successfully led the design of over 20 SBS open enrollment programs in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania, and competently designed custom programs in leading companies like Safaricom, TPS Serena, Stanbic Bank, Bank of Africa, Trademark EA, Umeme (Uganda) among others.

Previously, Agnes worked at Total Kenya where she held various positions within the card-marketing department, enthusiastically managed client relationships, led business development and fleet management. She also worked at the leading commercial bank by asset base in East Africa; KCB Group and Housing Finance as a credit officer.


Pursuing her doctorate in leadership at GIBS – the University of Pretoria in South Africa and holds a Post Graduate Diploma (Business Studies) from the same university.

MBA in Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi.

Bachelor of Commerce degree from Strathmore University.

Balanced Scorecard Certified productivity coach.

Some of the companies she has provided consultancies and training include Safaricom PLC, East African Breweries Ltd, AIG Insurance, UAP – Old Mutual, Isuzu East Africa, Australia Awards Alumni Network, NSSF – Uganda, Uganda Development Bank, DFCU Bank-Uganda, TIB Raslimali Ltd – Tanzania, TICTS- Tanzania among others.

She also volunteers as program content manager responsible for mentorship programs at Rise & Learn HR Mentors’ Group and is a mentor at Global Give Back Circle, a global mentorship movement for empowering and educating ‘at risk’ young women and girls.

Agnes is pursuing her doctorate in leadership at GIBS – University of Pretoria in South Africa and holds a Post Graduate Diploma (Business Studies) from the same university. She holds an MBA in Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi and won a fully paid Guinness scholarship to study at Strathmore University in its pioneer Bachelor of Commerce degree. She is a Balanced Scorecard certified productivity coach and is an alumna of SBS – Senior Management Leadership Program.

Her passion to ignite the spark in others to pursue greatness has led her to spend considerable amounts of time mentoring the youth in a mentorship club she co-founded with her husband.

Agnes is married with 4 children.
