SGI – Tanzania History
SBS started offering programmes in Tanzania in 2016, through a grant awarded by Financial Sector Deepening Africa. And while the initial focus for Strathmore’s work in Tanzania was predominantly in the financial services sector, they have discovered that strengthening leadership skills could help improve business in the country and also strengthen their prospects for sustainable growth and prosperity. Since then, the institute has worked with various companies in developing leadership approaches that benefit both leaders and organisations.
This has made the University take a critical look at the emerging leadership skills that are needed for Africa’s economic growth. by establishing a one-stop shop for the universities’ services which includes academic, research, innovation, and executive education.
Strathmore Global Institute (SGI) is a vehicle to be used by the university to manage Africa’s economic expansion starting with Tanzania, SADCC and the rest of the continent.
