Public-private partnerships (PPPs) are an alternative mechanism, used by governments, for procuring, delivering, financing and managing public infrastructure and services.
The PPP Executive Programme is a 3-day Foundation course offered in conjunction with the International Public-Private Partnerships Institute (IP3I), which is an Accredited Training Organisation (ATO) by APM Group Ltd.
The APMG PPP Certification Program® (CP3P®) is an innovation of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Inter-American Development Bank through its Multilateral Investment Fund (IADB through its MIF), the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the World Bank Group (WBG) funded by the Public-Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility (PPIAF).
The main objective of this Foundation course is to introduce the PPP concept as an option to procure and manage infrastructure.
This course also introduces the relevance and features of a proper PPP framework and the entire PPP process cycle, including a description of each of the phases that constitutes the process from a practical perspective.
An additional objective of the course is to help create a common ground for terminology regarding PPPs and the PPP process.
The Foundation course includes a PPP Guide, comprising eight chapters and a glossary, which are a Body of Knowledge (BoK) detailing all relevant aspects of creating and implementing efficient, sustainable public-private partnerships (PPPs).
At the end of the Foundation course, participants have the option to register for the Certified PPP Professional Foundation examination conducted by IP3I.
This course targets National and County Government officers, State corporation managers, private practitioners, technical consultants, and other interested professionals currently involved or planning to be involved in PPP projects.
The delivery of the course employs a combination of interactive lectures, discussions and case studies delivered by PPP experts (both academics and practitioners).
The case methodology as a learning technique gives participants a chance to analyse real PPP scenarios, discuss project preparation and implementation challenges, and participate in collaborative problem-solving.
The mode of delivery is virtual/ online.
