Dr. Robin Kibuka

Dr. Robin Kibuka is the Academic Director for Uganda Executive Education Programmes at Strathmore University Business School.

He is a Trustee of the CEO Summit Uganda and co-founder of the CEO Apprenticeship Programme (CAP).

He is the Board Chairman of Standard Chartered Bank Uganda; Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) and Namulondo Investments; as well as a member of the Advisory Council of the Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) – the apex private sector advocacy organisation in the country.

He holds a PhD in Economics from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Yale University, and has authored a number of publications in areas of Statistics, Macro-Management and Governance.

He has over 20 years of experience at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), working at the Executive Board of the Institution and in several other departments including Africa, Human Resources, Fiscal Affairs, Western Hemisphere and Statistics.

He also served as the IMF Resident Representative in Ghana and retired in 2009 as an Advisor in the Statistics Department.

Qualifications

PhD in Economics from Harvard University.

Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Yale University.

He has consulted in the areas of Macroeconomics, Development Policy, and Statistics, most recently with the African Development Bank (ADB) and the United Nations Development Programme in designing and updating fiscal road map for Swaziland.

He taught at Harvard and Makerere Universities and worked as a Research Assistant at the Yale Economic Growth Centre.
