The seventh International Tax Review Global 50 edition named James Karanja a Strathmore Business School alumnus; one of the most influential individuals in global tax trends. His influence in strengthening tax administration is admirable and exemplary, making him one of the new entries into the latest edition of the ranks.<\/p>\n

James Karanja who undertook his Masters’ studies in Public Policy and Management<\/a>\u00a0continues to raise the bar in influencing global tax policies. His entry into the edition comes shortly after his election to the top job at the Tax Inspectors Without Borders (TIWB) global secretariat by the OCED. His position has been recognized as significant in cementing the Kenya Revenue Authority\u2019s cooperation with the organisation. Since then, the recognition of Kenya as a regional leader in transfer pricing is due, in part, to a sustained effort by development partners.<\/p>\n

In an interview, detailing the programmes and initiatives overseen by James, he recognized the role of partnerships and collaborative efforts between regional organizations and international partners in streamlining administrative policies through the various tax systems.<\/p>\n

Like in previous editions, politicians and policymakers took up a large portion of the list, though it also recognizes big changes in the tax landscape and the influence of certain professions, geopolitical events and emerging trends that are steering the tax debate.<\/p>\n
