    Between 12th<\/sup> et 18th<\/sup> April 2026, the MBA in Healthcare Management (MBAHCM) 2026 cohort visited Chitkara University in India for their International Module. During the week-long module, the 23 students got an opportunity to get first-hand exposure to one of the world\u2019s most dynamic and rapidly evolving healthcare ecosystems.<\/p>\n

    \n

    The Programme for the week was carefully curated, blending academic engagement, industry visits, healthcare innovation, and cross-cultural exchange. The immersion formed part of Strathmore Business School\u2019s commitment to preparing healthcare leaders who can navigate complex systems, drive innovation, and lead transformative changes across Africa\u2019s healthcare sector.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

    The programme commenced with a visit to Chitkara University Punjab Campus, Rajpura, where participants engaged with faculty and gained insights into India\u2019s higher education ecosystem, innovation landscape, and the role of academia in shaping future healthcare leaders. The session created an opportunity for peer learning and discussions on healthcare management trends, research, and entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n

    One of the highlights of the immersion was a visit to Morepen Labs Factory in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. Morepen is a globally recognized Indian pharmaceutical company whose products are distributed across international markets. Participants gained valuable insights into large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality assurance systems, compliance standards, and the critical role of efficient supply chains in delivering medicines worldwide.<\/p>\n

    The visit provided a practical lens into how pharmaceutical companies scale production while maintaining global standards\u2014an increasingly relevant lesson for emerging healthcare markets across Africa.<\/p>\n

    The cohort also visited Allengers Medical Systems in Derabassi, a leading manufacturer of advanced medical equipment serving healthcare markets across the globe. The factory produces a wide range of technologies, from cancer treatment equipment to orthopaedic machines and diagnostic systems.<\/p>\n

    For participants, the visit offered a rare behind-the-scenes perspective into the design, engineering, and production of life-saving medical technologies. It also underscored the importance of local manufacturing capacity, innovation, and technology transfer in strengthening healthcare systems.<\/p>\n

    The immersion also included a visit to Park Hospital Panchkula, one of the newest facilities within a growing network of 17 hospitals. As a private healthcare provider, Park Hospital showcased how integrated hospital systems can deliver quality care while scaling services across multiple locations.<\/p>\n

    Participants explored hospital operations, patient care systems, management structures, and the strategic considerations involved in running a modern multi-site healthcare network. The experience sparked important reflections on operational excellence, patient-centered care, and private sector contributions to healthcare delivery.<\/p>\n

    Further learning took place at Fortis Hospital Mohali and PGIMER Chandigarh, exposing the group to both private and public healthcare models and offering comparative insights into service delivery, governance, and healthcare infrastructure.<\/p>\n

    Beyond institutional visits, the immersion programme created space for reflection, networking, and cultural experiences, allowing participants to appreciate the broader context in which healthcare systems operate.<\/p>\n

    As Africa\u2019s healthcare landscape continues to evolve, exposure to global best practices remains essential for leaders seeking to build resilient, innovative, and patient-centered systems. Through initiatives such as the India Immersion Programme, Strathmore Business School continues to empower professionals with the strategic perspective, practical insights, and international networks needed to transform healthcare delivery across the continent.<\/p>\n
