Je crois fermement qu'aucun dirigeant ne peut r\u00e9ussir seul ; il est essentiel de tirer parti des comp\u00e9tences et des connaissances de votre \u00e9quipe. Selon moi, chaque individu au sein d'une organisation est un leader et doit \u00eatre tenu responsable des r\u00e9sultats obtenus.<\/p>\n<p>Tout au long de mon parcours de dirigeant, j'ai d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 mon propre mod\u00e8le, le mod\u00e8le CARE de leadership. Cette approche repose sur quatre principes cl\u00e9s : l'engagement, la sensibilisation et l'adaptabilit\u00e9, les relations et l'autonomisation. Le mod\u00e8le CARE refl\u00e8te ma volont\u00e9 de favoriser un environnement de leadership inclusif et favorable. Il met l'accent sur l'engagement \u00e0 obtenir des r\u00e9sultats quel que soit le r\u00f4le de chacun, sur la connaissance des forces, des faiblesses et des capacit\u00e9s personnelles et de l'\u00e9quipe, sur la capacit\u00e9 d'adaptation pour s'adapter efficacement \u00e0 des circonstances changeantes, sur des relations fond\u00e9es sur la confiance et le respect mutuel, et sur l'autonomisation des employ\u00e9s, des clients et des communaut\u00e9s pour atteindre des objectifs communs.<\/p>\n<p>Plusieurs moments d\u00e9cisifs ont fa\u00e7onn\u00e9 mon parcours de dirigeant. Au d\u00e9but de ma carri\u00e8re, alors que j'\u00e9tais repr\u00e9sentant commercial junior chez General Motors Kenya, j'ai identifi\u00e9 une opportunit\u00e9 qui allait avoir un impact significatif sur la trajectoire de l'entreprise. J'ai remarqu\u00e9 que nous ne r\u00e9pondions pas aux appels d'offres du gouvernement et j'ai d\u00e9cid\u00e9 d'explorer ce march\u00e9 inexploit\u00e9. En parcourant les journaux, j'ai d\u00e9couvert un appel d'offres pour la fourniture de 25 pick-ups au minist\u00e8re de l'agriculture, financ\u00e9 par la Banque mondiale. D\u00e9termin\u00e9 \u00e0 saisir cette opportunit\u00e9, j'ai \u00e9crit \u00e0 Isuzu Motors Limited Japan pour n\u00e9gocier des conditions concurrentielles. Cette initiative a marqu\u00e9 le d\u00e9but des appels d'offres pour l'entreprise, m'a valu la reconnaissance de mon patron et a renforc\u00e9 ma visibilit\u00e9 au sein de l'organisation.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 la suite de ce succ\u00e8s, j'ai \u00e9t\u00e9 charg\u00e9 de diriger les op\u00e9rations commerciales sur la c\u00f4te, une r\u00e9gion confront\u00e9e \u00e0 d'importants d\u00e9fis. J'ai d'abord h\u00e9sit\u00e9 en raison d'engagements personnels, mais j'ai ensuite d\u00e9cid\u00e9 d'accepter pleinement ce r\u00f4le et de me consacrer enti\u00e8rement \u00e0 la revitalisation de cette r\u00e9gion en difficult\u00e9. En investissant du temps dans l'\u00e9tablissement de relations solides avec les concessionnaires, j'ai obtenu une croissance remarquable de l'activit\u00e9, ce qui m'a valu d'\u00eatre promu directeur national des ventes et, plus tard, en 2006, directeur commercial.<\/p>\n<p>En 2011, j'ai relev\u00e9 un nouveau d\u00e9fi lorsque j'ai \u00e9t\u00e9 envoy\u00e9e en Afrique du Sud pour concevoir un processus d'exportation pour l'Afrique subsaharienne. Malgr\u00e9 mon appr\u00e9hension initiale \u00e0 l'id\u00e9e de quitter ma zone de confort \u00e0 Nairobi, j'ai saisi l'occasion. La mission s'est \u00e9tendue au-del\u00e0 de son champ d'application initial, m'obligeant \u00e0 fermer un bureau en \u00c9gypte, \u00e0 d\u00e9placer du personnel et \u00e0 g\u00e9rer le d\u00e9part d'employ\u00e9s de haut rang. Cette exp\u00e9rience a mis \u00e0 l'\u00e9preuve mon humilit\u00e9 et mon courage, et a consid\u00e9rablement \u00e9largi mes capacit\u00e9s de leadership.<\/p>\n<p>Alors que j'\u00e9tais encore \u00e0 Johannesburg, j'ai appris que je serais nomm\u00e9 directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de General Motors East Africa (GMEA), un r\u00f4le qui est pass\u00e9 \u00e0 Isuzu EA en 2017. Lorsque j'ai pris la direction de l'entreprise, notre part de march\u00e9 \u00e9tait de 23%. Sous ma direction, nous l'avons port\u00e9e \u00e0 un niveau impressionnant de 53,9%. Cette r\u00e9alisation souligne l'importance de ne pas avoir peur, de saisir les opportunit\u00e9s et de construire une \u00e9quipe forte et ax\u00e9e sur les valeurs.<\/p>\n<p>Je suis profond\u00e9ment d\u00e9termin\u00e9e \u00e0 laisser en h\u00e9ritage l'autonomisation des femmes dans le domaine du leadership. Les femmes ont une capacit\u00e9 unique \u00e0 relever des d\u00e9fis complexes, notamment \u00e0 favoriser la collaboration et \u00e0 lutter contre le changement climatique. Leurs qualit\u00e9s d'empathie, de communication et de soutien sont essentielles pour r\u00e9soudre les probl\u00e8mes mondiaux d'aujourd'hui.<\/p>\n<p>J'encadre activement des jeunes filles et des femmes, les encourageant \u00e0 surmonter leurs peurs et \u00e0 assumer des r\u00f4les de leadership. Je suis inspir\u00e9e par l'intr\u00e9pidit\u00e9 de la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration Z et par son plaidoyer en faveur de l'autonomisation. Cette g\u00e9n\u00e9ration, qui repr\u00e9sente la majeure partie de notre population, apporte transparence, innovation et responsabilit\u00e9 dans les r\u00f4les de direction. Pour cultiver leur potentiel, j'ai int\u00e9gr\u00e9 cette ann\u00e9e 14 membres de la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration Z dans notre programme de formation des dipl\u00f4m\u00e9s (GIT) \u00e0 Isuzu EA, leur offrant ainsi une exp\u00e9rience pr\u00e9cieuse sur une p\u00e9riode d'un an.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Aujourd'hui, le leadership exige l'inclusion, la r\u00e9solution de probl\u00e8mes et l'adaptabilit\u00e9. Les femmes, en particulier dans les secteurs domin\u00e9s par les hommes, doivent faire preuve d'audace et d'authenticit\u00e9 lorsqu'elles acc\u00e8dent \u00e0 des postes de direction. Chez Isuzu EA, notre succ\u00e8s est le fruit de la t\u00e9nacit\u00e9, de la r\u00e9silience et d'une \u00e9quipe align\u00e9e sur des valeurs communes.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Les valeurs cl\u00e9s qui guident mon leadership sont la t\u00e9nacit\u00e9 pour maintenir le cap malgr\u00e9 les d\u00e9fis, l'agilit\u00e9 pour s'adapter et r\u00e9pondre aux nouvelles circonstances, le courage pour prendre des d\u00e9cisions audacieuses, la responsabilit\u00e9 pour garantir les r\u00e9sultats et l'autonomisation pour permettre aux gens de r\u00e9aliser leur potentiel.<\/p>\n<p>Mon parcours a \u00e9t\u00e9 jalonn\u00e9 d'enseignements pr\u00e9cieux fond\u00e9s sur le travail, l'humilit\u00e9, l'autodiscipline et une gestion efficace.
