    Le 17 mai 2023, le programme Kenya Small Business Development Centers (Kenya SBDC) de l'USAID s'est associ\u00e9 \u00e0 WEConnect International au Kenya pour accueillir la Conf\u00e9rence r\u00e9gionale africaine.<\/p>\n

    Cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement a rassembl\u00e9 des femmes entrepreneurs, des acteurs gouvernementaux et des acteurs du secteur priv\u00e9 afin de promouvoir l'int\u00e9gration de la dimension de genre dans les processus d'approvisionnement et d'am\u00e9liorer l'acc\u00e8s des petites et moyennes entreprises (PME) aux march\u00e9s publics mondiaux dans les secteurs public et priv\u00e9.<\/p>\n

    La conf\u00e9rence a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sid\u00e9e par Veronica Nduva, secr\u00e9taire principale du d\u00e9partement d'\u00c9tat pour le genre et l'action positive, qui a soulign\u00e9 l'importance de cr\u00e9er des partenariats strat\u00e9giques pour la croissance. \u201cEn tant que femmes, nous devrions sortir de notre zone de confort et adopter des r\u00e9seaux et des partenariats de grande valeur\u201d, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Veronica Nduva, secr\u00e9taire permanente du d\u00e9partement d'\u00c9tat pour l'\u00e9galit\u00e9 des sexes et l'action positive.<\/p>\n

    Parmi les autres acteurs cl\u00e9s pr\u00e9sents figuraient le Bureau de la croissance \u00e9conomique et de l'int\u00e9gration (OEGI) de l'USAID, l'Ag. Policy Lead Margo Siemer, ainsi que d'autres acteurs du secteur priv\u00e9 tout au long de la cha\u00eene d'approvisionnement du pays, comme Unilever, Bamburi Cement PLC, IFC - International Finance Corporation, EY et Naivas Limited, entre autres.<\/p>\n

    Il s'agissait d'un \u00e9v\u00e9nement de mise en relation d'affaires qui offrait aux femmes chefs d'entreprise des possibilit\u00e9s pratiques d'appliquer leurs connaissances en mati\u00e8re de cha\u00eene d'approvisionnement et d'\u00e9largir leurs d\u00e9bouch\u00e9s aupr\u00e8s d'acheteurs de diff\u00e9rentes soci\u00e9t\u00e9s. En fin de compte, la conf\u00e9rence a ouvert les yeux de la plupart des entreprises dirig\u00e9es par des femmes et leur a permis d'exploiter les possibilit\u00e9s offertes par le secteur de la cha\u00eene d'approvisionnement.<\/p>\n

    \u201cNous reconnaissons que pour assurer l'inclusion et la participation effectives des PME dans l'acc\u00e8s aux march\u00e9s locaux et mondiaux, il est important qu'elles comprennent leur pr\u00e9paration \u00e0 l'approvisionnement. Le SBDC du Kenya s'est engag\u00e9 \u00e0 travailler avec des organisations ax\u00e9es sur le genre pour garantir qu'au moins 40% WSME aient acc\u00e8s aux opportunit\u00e9s du march\u00e9\u201d, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Lucy Maingi, conseill\u00e8re en genre du programme SBDC de l'USAID au Kenya.<\/p>\n
