Strathmore Business School has been awarded a grant by the BMGF (Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation)<\/p>\n
to facilitate Leadership, Management, and Governance (LMG) training to the senior leadership of NMCP (National Malaria Control Program) and MOH (Ministry of Health) in 6 countries – Kenya, Mali, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Rwanda and Cameroon.<\/p>\n
Malaria eradication is a top priority for BMGF with focus on (a) Reduction of the burden\u00a0of malaria\u00a0by expanding the use of effective existing tools, including preventive medication and case management, improving disease surveillance and data for decision-making high-burden settings; (b) Acceleration of progress toward eradication\u00a0by investing in next-generation surveillance systems, elimination in regions where drug-resistant malaria has emerged, and research and development efforts, and (c) Getting ahead of resistance\u00a0by eliminating falciparum malaria – the type that causes the most severe cases – by developing a robust pipeline of new treatments, and analyzing disease and mosquito genetic data to quickly respond to threats. For this to be achieved, it is important for malaria leadership in Africa to be equipped with LMG skills to facilitate informed decision making across several policy implementation levels of the health systems.<\/p>\n<\/div>
The primary objectives<\/strong> of this initiative are to develop and equip leaders and managers of NMCP to make effective use of data to inform decision making, to function effectively in their leadership and management roles, and to be able to attract resources and efficiently use those resources to sustainably and cost-effectively manage malaria (and other vector-borne disease) programs within the African context. This will allow high-burden malaria countries to transition from aid dependency to sustainable health system performance.<\/p>\n<\/div> Module 1 :<\/strong> Theme – Leadership<\/p>\n Module 2 :<\/strong> Theme – Innovation and Service Delivery<\/p>\n Module 3 :<\/strong> Theme – Health Financing And Human Resource for Health<\/p>\n Module 4 :<\/strong> Theme – Supply Chain and Information Management<\/p>\n<\/div> Senior leaders, policy makers, researchers and managers who are responsible for leading and managing Malaria programs and projects in C\u00f4te d’Ivoire, Mali, Cameroon, Ghana, Rwanda and Kenya<\/p>\n<\/div> Participants will be equipped with the right leadership, Management and governance skills through a robust program trained by faculty who understand the healthcare sector to enable them improve Malaria elimination programs for better results.<\/p>\n<\/div> They Program is conducted using – Interactive sessions, Real Life Case Studies, Experiential Learning, field trips and Group discussions.<\/p>\n<\/div> The programme will be delivered in four modules:<\/p>\n Module 1 and 4 <\/strong>will be delivered in person in each country<\/p>\n Module 2 and 3 <\/strong>will be delivered virtually<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div> For more information on the programme contact us on jngure@strathmore.edu.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/i>Principaux domaines d'action<\/h4><\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/div>
