colour on Friday, 17th September 2021 as we graduated three cohorts of the Enterprise Development Programme; the 2019 class, the 2020 class and the 2021 class. The participants graduating from the three cohorts were an interesting mix with some having done the Programme wholly online, others wholly physically and another batch hybrid (partly online and partly physical).<\/p>\n<p>Speaking during the graduation ceremony, Sarah Karingi,fondly known as the queen of networking in the SME space,shared her entrepreneurship journey and how she had broken barriers to get to where she is today. She further encouraged the entrepreneurs to keep forging ahead despite the tough economic times. Sarah highlighted the importance of networking and how entrepreneurs can leverage on networking to expand their businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Muriithi Njogu, the Director of Support and Administration Services at Strathmore University Business School urged the entrepreneurs to create businesses with a lasting legacy. He emphasised the commitment that SBS has for supporting enterprises and SMEs for job creation. Muriithi further gave the new EDP graduates a very important take away point; \u201cvalue, volume\u00a0 and frequency coupled with a good empowered team are critical business drivers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to the Enterprise Development Classes of 2019, 2020 and 2021!<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>About the<\/u><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3nJjDis\"><strong> Programme de d\u00e9veloppement des entreprises<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) operations cut across almost all sectors of the economy and sustain the majority of households. Their activities form a breeding ground for businesses to thrive and provide one of the most prolific sources of employment.<\/p>\n<p>The Enterprise Development Programme aims to help entrepreneurs develop their entrepreneurship competencies and gain best practice insights to effectively manage the growth of their business ventures. It is specifically tailored to meet and solve some of the needs and challenges SMEs face.<\/p>\n<p>The course is hands-on and participant-centered. Through the use of locally developed business case studies, participants are engaged in discussions enabling them to develop problem-solving and good decision-making skills.
