Strathmore University Business School last week trained 15 Senior Managers from Amref Flying Doctors (AFD) in the Board Readiness Programme.<\/p>\n

By going through the Board Readiness Programme, the Senior Managers will enhance and broaden their governance acumen in understanding Board decision making within Amref Flying Doctors.<\/p>\n

The aim of the Programme was to empower the Senior Management team on the practical skills needed when serving on boards, the preparation of board reports and the effective presentation of the same. The second module of the Programme is set to take place later this month.<\/p>\n

AMREF Flying Doctors (AFD) is a company limited by guarantee wholly owned by Amref Health Africa, the leading international health development non-governmental organization based in Africa, headquartered in Nairobi.<\/p>\n

AFD appointed Strathmore University Business School to be their knowledge partner in developing the skills of the Senior Management team through the Board Readiness Programme.<\/p>\n

Why the Board Readiness Programme?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The boardroom is where strategic decisions are made, governance applied, and risk is overseen. Hence, in order to perform better,\u00a0 boards must include people who come from a range of perspectives, skills, experience and backgrounds.<\/p>\n

This Programme offers a transformational learning experience that prepares the Senior Executive to assume responsibilities at the highest level as they lead their companies and institutions to achieve a sustainable competitive edge.<\/p>\n
