Introduction<\/h2>\n<\/div>The International Student Office (ISO) in Strathmore is committed to helping incoming exchange students make the most of their stay on campus.<\/h4>\n
Arrival in a foreign country and getting used to a new environment can be very challenging.<\/strong><\/p>\nThe ISO creates a good environment that will assist the foreign student to adopt easily with little challenges.<\/p>\n<\/div>
Living Costs Estimations<\/h3>\n<\/div>Students are responsible for their own accommodation and living expenses. Strathmore University provides information and advice about the different types of housing available.<\/p>\n
However, each student is responsible for making their own housing arrangements.<\/p>\n
Tuition fees are waived for exchange students based on our institutional agreements.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>Approximate living costs are as follows:<\/p>\n
1. Off-Campus accommodation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Renting a hostel \u2013 KSh 30,000 per month not including food<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
2. Meals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Breakfast: KSh 6,000 per month<\/strong><\/li>\n
- Lunch: KSh 8,000 per month<\/strong><\/li>\n
- Dinner: KSh 15,000 per month<\/strong><\/li>\n
- Total food expense per month totals to Ksh 29,000 per month<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
3. Transportation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Public transportation KSh 5,000 per month<\/strong>. This will depend on how far you will be from the university.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
4. Miscellaneous Expenses<\/strong><\/p>\nStudents should also be prepared for any costs related to transportation, personal travel, shopping, etc. This amount will change greatly for everyone depending on personal spending habits.<\/p>\n<\/div>
