Earlier this month, the Strathmore Global Institute Uganda trained 19 participants from across East Africa for the second module of the Regional Senior Management Development Programme. The participants in this Programme included two from Burundi and 17 from Uganda.<\/p>\n

The diverse group comprised representatives from Vision Fund Uganda (7 participants), KCB Bank Uganda, NCBA Uganda, CRDB Burundi, ABSA Uganda, UAP Old Mutual, Wakandi Uganda Ltd, and Liquid Intelligent Technologies.<\/p>\n

Over the course of the programme, which was delivered in three-day modules, participants received valuable insights from esteemed faculty and guest speakers.<\/p>\n

The first day kicked-off with Dr. Susan Murage leading a session on people management, emphasizing the importance of emotional intelligence, effective communication, and conflict resolution in creating a positive work environment. The next sessions were covered by Carl Wagner and focused on culture and change Management, highlighting the crucial role of organizational culture in driving successful change initiatives. Dr. Bernadette Wanjala then took the participants through an-depth analysis of global and regional economic trends, underscoring the significance of understanding the global economic landscape for strategic decision-making. James Nyiha then concluded the module with a session on strategy at the home front, which focused on integrating family and business strategies and introduced family courses available in Uganda.<\/p>\n

The programme offered a transformative experience, blending professional and personal growth strategies. By exploring a range of topics\u2014from performance management and cultural change to economic perspectives and family-business integration\u2014participants were equipped to enhance their leadership capabilities and strategic thinking. The module not only aimed to advance participants’ professional skills but also to foster a deeper understanding of how personal and organizational strategies intersect for overall success.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Throughout the programme, participants engaged in interactive discussions, case studies, and practical exercises designed to apply the concepts learned. The sessions were tailored to address the unique challenges faced by senior managers in the East African context, providing tools and strategies for both immediate and long-term application.<\/p>\n
