    In the spirit of enhancing collaboration and partnership, a team from the SBS \u2013 Sisters Blended Value Project (SBVP) on 5th<\/sup> May 2023, paid a courtesy visit to the Association of Consecrated Women in Eastern and Central Africa (ACWECA) at their premises in Ongata Rongai.<\/p>\n

    Led by the Principle Investigator, Dr. Angela Ndunge, the team took time to give an overview of the project, including the key achievements in 2022, mainly focusing on the four pillars of the project including capacity building, research, conferences and networking forums and the incubator and financial services.<\/p>\n

    Dr. Ndunge noted that the transformation process has not only been to the sisters but also to the SBS community. \u201cWe are all working towards the same goal, and greater good of the society and the countries where we come from.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Dr. Angela further noted that beyond the project, the university would be happy to engage students as they do their service-based learning (internships) in some of the sisters\u2019 social enterprises. This will not only give students an opportunity to do their internships but also for the sisters to get support in various areas critical to the success of their enterprises such as bookkeeping and accountancy, digital marketing, etc.<\/p>\n

    \n

    It was worth noting that from skills gained during the Social Enterprise Programs which run last year, some of the sisters in Uganda have been able to train young people within their community to write business proposals, this being one among many clear indications of the impact that SBVP has had on the sisters in enabling them to translate knowledge into action as they positively impact the society.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

    On behalf of ACWECA, the Secretary-General, Sr. Bridgita Samba, expressed her appreciation to the SBS team for the work done with the sisters in the past year. She also requested the SBS team to find other avenues of bringing other sisters on board who are yet to enroll in the programs and afford them more opportunities where they can be absorbed as faculty and coaches.<\/p>\n
