\/><\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-1\"><p>Between 17th and 19th May 2023, Strathmore University Business School (SBS) hosted more than 20 Business Advisory Service Providers (BASPs) for a training module on how to establish successful enterprises for business advisory.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Some of the highlights from the 3-day training included practical exploration of the needs that MSMEs have for which they seek business advisory services as well as the needs that investors have about investing in MSMEs for which business advisory services can provide a solution.<\/p>\n<p>Other sessions tackled the practical benefits to BASPS in practicing effective market segmentation, client management and retention.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The participants also had an opportunity to here from the <a href=\"https:\/\/sbs.strathmore.edu\/en_gb\/ksbdc\/\">Kenya Small Business Development Centers (Kenya SBDC) Program<\/a> team in a bid to find areas of collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>The Programme culminated in a networking cocktail where the participants got the opportunity to network and learn more from the faculty and each other.<\/p>\n<p>This training is part of the <em>Business Advisory Services Providers (BASPs) Network Capacity and Ecosystem Development program, a program that\u00a0<\/em>seeks to leverage the role of BASPs across Kenya by addressing capacity gaps in pitching transactions and managing relations with financial institutions; matching client profile with the lender\u2019s profile; BASP financial modeling and delivery of advisory services and the improvement of the BASP own revenue model (from transaction to transaction to a business stream).The overall goal of the Program is to establish and institutionalize a framework for BASPs in a bid to serve the needs of Kenya\u2019s national and county-level investment growth goals.
