    The achievement of good health is critical to enhancing human development and promoting economic, social, and political growth. The realization of this worthy goal at a regional and national level requires sound healthcare delivery systems, good nutritional statuses, food security and the absence of epidemic diseases. Indeed, the COVID-19 pandemic illustrated how a healthcare crisis can kick-start both an economic and social crisis, thus exposing the inter-linkages between different sectors.<\/p>\n

    \n

    The East Africa Healthcare Expo, organized by Strathmore University Business School and the Kenya Healthcare Federation shall take place from 4th to 5th May 2023 at the Strathmore University Auditorium. The event will aim to showcase East Africa as a hub for healthcare innovation and knowledge sharing. The overall theme for 2023 is \u201cCreating Linkages for Improved Health\u201d. This is because the health-related sustainable development goal (SDG3) has linkages with all other SDGs. Central to the Expo will be an exploration of the role of innovation in promoting multisectoral coordination and cooperation to meet both health-related SDG goals, as well as broader SDG targets that relate to improved health across populations.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

    The Healthcare Expo Conference and Exhibition is born out of the understanding that strategic connections between cross sectors with shared interests seated in a desire for mutual benefit can be an effective and intelligent means of increasing the possibility of creating notable development across East Africa. By bringing together well-researched data and information in addition to well-thought-out healthcare service provision interventions and related infrastructure development strategies, the conference and exhibition presents a one-stop shop for investors, development partners, and healthcare practitioners from six countries. By facilitating an understanding of the region, the conference is a prudent point to secure funding and investments that can create and expand access to new markets, not only in East Africa but the larger African region. The objective of this annual event is to engage and rally investors, private sector technology stakeholders, development partners, counties and national government, healthcare providers (including medical service and research providers, pharmaceutical companies, equipment providers, and health insurance), healthcare administrators, non-governmental agencies, and various institutions in achieving specific healthcare objectives.<\/p>\n

    The Kenya National Vision 2030 Healthcare Pillar Objectives include: provision of a robust health infrastructure network countrywide, improving the quality of health service delivery to the highest standards, promotion of partnerships with the private sector and providing access to those excluded from health care for financial or other reasons. The County\u2019s strategic healthcare investment objectives include: harmonizing inter-county health investment strategies to achieve scale and inclusivity, attracting greater investments in primary, secondary, and tertiary health industries in the region, exploring healthcare financing models, exploring the role of innovation and technological developments in achieving greater healthcare provision, reviewing policies geared towards improving the provision of healthcare services in line with achieving the Healthcare SDGs, improving regional healthcare disaster management and disease prevention initiatives, facilitating access to quality and affordable healthcare in the region and building capacities of youth and women to access healthcare in the region.<\/p>\n

    The Healthcare Expo will explore the progress that has been made towards achieving these goals and the work that needs to be done. Provision of good health services satisfies one of the basic human needs and contributes significantly towards maintaining and enhancing the productive potential of people. Cross-linkages from other sectors, linkages between the private and public sectors and adopting a collaborative approach is key to advancing the healthcare SDGs. Join us and help to co-create solutions that can improve healthcare equity, inclusion, access, and quality.<\/p>\n
