SBS was one of 45 business schools from 21 countries worldwide that took part in the rating this year and achieved Level four, making it a transforming school within the PIR. Once again, SBS was the only business school from Africa to make it to the rankings this year.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s report, which was titled &#8220;The Role of Business Schools in times of crises&#8221; was launched earlier this month at the UN PRME Global Forum. The 2022 report is the third edition of the Positive Impact Rating and comes at a time when crises are increasingly happening on the doorstep of business schools. Over the past few years, the climate crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic have resulted in a sense of instability and uncertainty, replacing the long-held focus on economic growth and prosperity. The Russian- Ukrainian war has sealed that sentiment: we live in a time of crises.<\/p>\n<p>The PIR is a rating conducted by students and for students. The positive impact of business schools goes beyond their contribution to business and the economy; it addresses the need for their positive impact for society. SBS students assessed how SBS addresses societal and sustainable challenges and prepares its students to be responsible business leaders.<\/p>\n<p>The rating survey asks students 20 questions in three key areas: engaging, educating and energising. It looks at seven relevant impact dimensions: governance and culture of the school; study programs; learning methods;\u00a0 student support; the institution as a role model; and its public engagement.<\/p>\n<p>In its endeavour to transform leadership in Africa in the 21st Century, Strathmore University Business School has taken the responsibility of influencing the leadership of public and private sectors across the continent. This is the overarching mission at SBS, Service to Society through the development of international executive business management and leadership programmes.<\/p>\n<p>Since its inception in 2005 and coming at a time when the world and Africa face extraordinary challenges, SBS\u2019s mission to develop transformative business leaders is even more relevant.
