Dr. David Mathuva is a senior Faculty member at Strathmore University Business School and also serves as the Director of Undergraduate Programmes. He also serves as the Academic Director of the MSc. Development Finance Programme.<\/p>\n<p>The other scholars chosen are associate and assistant professors from Brazil, Poland and UAE.<\/p>\n<p>The ACCA IAAER Scholars are appointed for two years and, thanks to the financial support of ACCA, will attend IAAER conferences, workshops, etc., including the IAAER World Congress of Accounting Educators and Researchers to be hosted by IESEG at its Paris Campus 1-2 December 2022. The long-term goal of the ACCA IAAER Scholars program is to grow the research and teaching skills capacity of accounting scholars in emerging and transitional economies.<\/p>\n<p>Ongoing mentorship is a key component of the program, which is why the scholars have been assigned IAAER mentors. The mentors will support each scholar\u2019s exposure to internationally recognized accounting scholars, best practices in accounting and accounting-related education and research and become part of a global peer network.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Dr. David Mathuva<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dr. David Mathuva is a Senior Lecturer and the Director, Undergraduate Programmes at Strathmore University Business School (SBS). He also serves as the Academic Director (MSc. Development Finance) at SBS. He holds a PhD in Business Administration (Accounting and Finance), a Master of Commerce degree (Forensic Accounting) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance). He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and a Fellow of Higher Education Academy, UK.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Mathuva has taught for over 13 years at both academic, professional, and corporate\/executive levels and has published 19 research articles in peer-reviewed and well-rated journals. He serves on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Accounting in Emerging Economies, Emerging Markets Case Studies and the African Accounting and Finance Journal. He is also the VP-Africa representative in the InSPiR2eS global network.
