Strathmore University\u2019s Green Eco Organics Team under the leadership of Samuel Macharia Kioya emerged as the winning team in the Hult Regionals Impact Summit in Dubai. They were among the top in Africa and the Middle East.<\/p>\n

Green Eco Organics\u00a0came in second place during the Strathmore On-campus Programme held in November 2020. The next step for Green Eco Organics is\u00a0the Accelerator Program at the Hult Prize Castle in London. The Accelerator Program will be held in July where the team will receive mentorship and guidance towards the final pitch as they compete globally for one million USD in seed capital for their start-up.<\/p>\n

The Hult Regionals Impact Summit 2021 was held in Dubai on 30th and 31st March 2021 and hosted participating teams from Africa and the Middle East.\u00a0 The Summit activities included social events, live pitching sessions, inspirational keynote speeches, and workshops.<\/p>\n

The Hult Prize is the world\u2019s largest social impact competition. Run in partnership with the United Nations, student teams come together to compete to solve a pressing social issue by developing a scalable, sustainable social enterprise.\u00a0The theme\u00a0 for the period 2020-2021 is \u201cFOOD FOR GOOD.\u201d The big question that students have to answer is: how can you transform food into a vehicle for change that will create jobs,\u00a0 stimulate economies, reimagine supply chains and improve outcomes for 10,000,000 people by 2030.<\/p>\n

About Green Eco Organics<\/b><\/p>\n

Green Eco Organics is an Agricultural company founded in 2019\u00a0 by Samuel Macharia Kioya, a BBIT student at Strathmore University. His company,\u00a0Green Eco Organics is an agricultural company that deals with organic produce. Their concept is\u00a0bringing back life in agriculture through red worms and black soldier flies which eat up waste and convert it into organic manure. There are also several by-products such as protein, liquid organic fertilizer, sustainable omega 3 oil from the larvae, and beneficial microbes for the soil.<\/p>\n
