Introduction

The International Student Office (ISO) in Strathmore is committed to helping incoming exchange students make the most of their stay on campus.

Arrival in a foreign country and getting used to a new environment can be very challenging.

The ISO creates a good environment that will assist the foreign student to adopt easily with little challenges.

Living Costs Estimations

Students are responsible for their own accommodation and living expenses. Strathmore University provides information and advice about the different types of housing available.

However, each student is responsible for making their own housing arrangements.

Tuition fees are waived for exchange students based on our institutional agreements.

Approximate living costs are as follows:

1. Off-Campus accommodation

  • Renting a hostel – KSh 30,000 per month not including food

2. Meals

  • Breakfast: KSh 6,000 per month
  • Lunch: KSh 8,000 per month
  • Dinner: KSh 15,000 per month
  • Total food expense per month totals to Ksh 29,000 per month

3. Transportation

  • Public transportation KSh 5,000 per month. This will depend on how far you will be from the university.

4. Miscellaneous Expenses

Students should also be prepared for any costs related to transportation, personal travel, shopping, etc. This amount will change greatly for everyone depending on personal spending habits.

  • To enable learners to identify special problems and get solutions of financing real estates and mortgage finance businesses.

  • This course is designed to equip the students with knowledge and tools of innovation and new Product/services development in modern organizations. 2. Language of Instruction

  • The language of instruction is English
  • Students can do a selective either of the 5 foreign languages, French, German,
    Japanese, Chinese, Spanish

3. Computer and Internet Services

All students are given an email address, personal access numbers and passwords to access all computer labs and Wi-Fi.

4. On-Campus Facilities

Cafeteria, university clinic, sports complex, library, reading rooms, photocopiers.

5. Mentorship

The Mentoring office provides personal advisers to each of the students to guide the students.

Learning Expectations

1. Class Format

Lectures, case studies, presentations, discussions, oral presentations.

2. Class Attendance

Attendance is mandatory and failure to meet the attendance threshold (not less than 67%), one cannot sit for the exam.

3. Examinations

All course units shall normally be examined during the semester in which they are taught. The time allowed for each exam is 2hours. Pass mark >40%.
