Programme Delivery and Special Features

The Board Readiness Forum is an intensive 3 – day programme held once a year.

Through relevant case studies, interactive classroom exercises, small group discussions, videos and exposure to the latest research participants will acquire skills that can immediately be applied to enhance individual and organizational performance.

Each day of the programme will end in a reflection session where participants can exchange thoughts and ideas.

You will have the opportunity to explore best practices and new research, share insights, compare experiences through board simulations and class interactions and try out new ideas with an exceptional group of seasoned board leaders.

The mode of delivery is in-person at the SBS Madaraka Campus in Nairobi, Kenya. Ministry of Health COVID-19 safety protocols and guidelines will be adhered to.

Faculty

This programme will bring together an optimum mix of practitioners with experience in serving on boards. It will also draw from their knowledge and experience as much as from our world-class faculty.

The sessions will be complemented with panel discussions, facilitated by faculty and different industry leaders serving on boards.

Lead Faculty – Kellen Eileen Kariuki, MBS

Kellen was the first Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority Chief Executive Officer tasked with setting up the new Public Sector institution. She was responsible for receiving, safeguarding and reuniting unclaimed financial assets. Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority is the first and one of its kind in Africa. She led the strategic direction and operations of a new organization by setting up structures, policies, systems and recruiting staff. Kshs 40 billion worth of unclaimed financial assets was reported in her tenor at UFAA while 100% of valid claims lodged were reunited with their rightful owners.

Kellen is a Fellow Certified Public Accountant – FCPA (K). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and an MBA in Strategic Management from United States International University. She also holds an MSc in International Human Resource Management from Cranfield University in the UK. She is currently PhD Candidate at Strathmore University Business School.
