Kenya’s policy making scene has been falling short on proper implementation, an element often quoted as the country’s pitfall for efficiency. Public policy management is rapidly gaining interest, a niche study area for all disciplines.
The Master of Public Policy and Management degree is a rigorous two-year program designed to address the complex issues facing modern governments and other policy-making organizations.
The program gives one a practical learning experience using the case-study methodology which offers a unique opportunity for the application of practical skills, tools and ideas to real-life problems. Our broad pool of local and international faculty is actively engaged in shaping public policy, advising both governments and organisations, locally and internationally. The core curriculum features Public Policy and Management, Public Finance, Strategy and Entrepreneurship, General Management, Managing People in the public sector, and International aspects of public policy. The program offers a flexible mode of study and you can choose either evening or modular classes. This is tailored for busy executives who can opt to study for two weeks after every quarter or 3 evenings every week.
The program offers an intensive one-week international module at the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service of New York University, where they broaden their understanding of specific and cross-cutting global issues in public policy.
Strathmore Institute of Public Policy and Governance (SIPPG) are currently engaging Northern Illinois University (NIU); School of Public and Global Affairs, to offer a Double Master Degree of Master in Public Policy and Management and Master in Public Administration.
