  Aug 5, 2016

Strathmore University Business School has announced a partnership with CfC Stanbic Bank to hold a series of workshops aimed at giving 3rd and 4th-year students from the institution practical skills on entrepreneurship and finance.

Dubbed the Engage Forums, the sessions will take place during Strathmore’s Summer School Week and are designed to give students practical tips on decision making, starting and driving the growth of a business, among other topics.

Speaking at the opening session of the Engage Forums, Abraham Ongenge, Chief Financial Officer, CfC Stanbic Bank said, “We are privileged to work with Strathmore Business School to build capacity and help create an enabling environment that will help better prepare young people to participate in the new knowledge economy.”

CfC Stanbic Bank’s initiative with Strathmore Business School comes at a time when the country is looking to diversify from traditional sources of income and encourage the growth of entrepreneurship as a key to economic growth.

The speakers at the Engage Forums will include Elly Odhong, Head of Integrated Channels at CfC Stanbic Bank, Jibran Quireshi, Regional Economist at CfC Stanbic Bank and Veselina Kracheva from Oxford Business Group, among others.

Students will also learn about the role of technology to provide clients with lasting and meaningful experiences in diverse sectors.

“CfC Stanbic Bank’s participation in the Engage Forums is part of an ongoing commitment to broadly work with stakeholders to drive real progress for individuals and businesses in the country,” added Abraham.

“We are ready to work a diverse group of partners, small businesses, academic institutions, and other stakeholders so as to achieve our goal of providing innovative financial solutions for individual and corporate entities,” he concluded.
