Thank A Farmer Challange Final Draft

What is the #ThankAFarmer Challenge? “My grandfather used to say that once in your life you need a doctor, a lawyer, a policeman and a preacher, but every day, three times a day, you need a farmer.” Brenda Schoepp The #ThankAFarmer challenge invites you to appreciate the critical role that farmers play in putting food on our tables in 3 simple steps:

  1. SNAP: Take a photo of your meal
  2. TWEET: Tweet the photo with the two hashtags #ThankAFarmer and #SBSAgriSummit
  3. WIN: The person with the most retweets wins a hamper every week

Every morning, you probably fry up some eggs or pour a glass of orange juice to go with your breakfast cereal or a cup of coffee. At lunch, you head out to your favorite chapati – stew place or visit your favorite pizza joint with some friends, in the evening you might make some rice to go with your bean stew and perhaps have a fruit or two. Ever thought of how that food got to your table? Farmers play a crucial role in providing us with readily available, clean, safe and affordable food to feed ourselves and our families. So, the next time you get a bite to eat or when you sit down to enjoy a meal remember to snap it, tweet it and #ThankAFarmer. The #ThankAFarmer Challenge is taking place from Monday February 6th 2017 to Friday March 3rd 2017. How do I claim my gift hamper? All #ThankAFarmer challenge winners will be selected by the SBS communications team and will be notified via twitter and invited to collect their hampers at Strathmore Business School – Madaraka Campus, Nairobi. Remember to include both hashtags to stand a chance to win: #ThankAFarmer #SBSAgriSummit
